the PROBLEM
mental health issues are extremely prevalent in entertainment because it’s an industry that attracts highly creative, sensitive and competitive people who believe they are playing a zero-sum, high-stakes game.
power games and exploitation foment countless afflictions and addictions, which can lead to serious mental breakdowns for filmmakers already struggling with chronic conditions.
though the entertainment industry is making strides in sensitively portraying mental health and pairing projects with awareness campaigns, companies haven’t offered much beyond marketing efforts.
the SOLUTION
like mind space will take action with holistic wellness by:
1. encouraging members to commit to managing their conditions as they interact with our community for a deeper, healthy social connection
2. pairing members with professionals who understand the unique stresses of the entertainment industry
3. providing discounted memberships partnering holistic wellbeing platforms
4. empowering members through educational tools and professional opportunities that enable filmmakers to succeed in their creative work and personal lives
the GOAL
like mind space seeks to help balance the lives of filmmakers who struggle with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. as a collective, we aim to set an example of healthy behavior and quality filmmaking.
in time, we will provide three distinct programs that will allow any filmmaker who suffers from mental illness to create a balanced and fulfilling life for themselves.
our aim is to champion two like mind space films per year. these projects will be created, produced and sponsored by like mind space members, partnerships and donors who support the idea of holistic wellness in the entertainment industry.
as a community initiative, we are dedicated to serving our community by example. we are committed to managing our mental well-being, finding success through the collaboration of skills and helping like mind space members achieve the same levels of holistic success.
